New iPhone app: Bump someone! »

From the Trib: “The new iPhone app, called Bump, transfers data from one iPhone to another simply by bumping. When two people holding iPhones bump hands, detailed contact information or just certain data, such as a phone number, can be shared.”

The app was developed by two first year business school students at U of C. One explains how the app, called “Bump” works: “It monitors the accelerometers in the two phones and a smart matching algorithm running in the cloud is able to match up any two phones in the world that bump each other.” Well, it’s so deviously simple- I’m kicking myself for not thinking of it first!
