A.V. Club Interviews Alton Brown »
I’m a self-proclaimed Food Network addict. (Favorite show: Ace of Cakes. Least favorite: anything and everything that Rachael Ray has come within 4,000 miles of). The A/V club did a great interview of Good Eats host Alton Brown. He writes, directs and produces the show, and overall seems like a pretty cool guy. I loved the following:
“All the good chefs that I know say that they are cooks employed as chef. All the people that say, “I’m a chef,” generally aren’t. The good ones will say, “I’m a cook.” Once people start saying, “I’m Chef Bob!”—yeah, whatever. I’m Captain Kangaroo. Have a nice day.”
