Is it just me or is it getting unbearably hot in... →
Another funny article from the gents over at The Talking Mirror (check them out- they are to humor writing what Bob Ross, God rest his soul, was to painting on channel 13). The article was written from, you guessed it, the perspective of a Turkey:
“Sweet mother of Mary it is getting hotter and hotter. Now what are you doing? Yes! Open the door and free me. No, wait, what are you stuffing...
1 Year Anniversary!
Well, today marks the 1st birthday of The Poptimist. And in honor of that, I thought it was high time to change the background of the site. I like the look of this background for now.
A big thanks to all who have read, contributed to, linked to, and otherwise supported this site. It’s been a fun outlet for me, and I appreciate the support.
You can still follow The Poptimist via RSS feed,...

I’m the first to admit that I’m a little late to jump on the Sunny bandwagon (I credit these three peeps with introducing me), but I’m here to stay. It’s got all the quirkiness of Arrested Development but visits territory comedically that network shows could never touch. (A favorite Sunny episode of mine is when 2 lead characters develop a crack addiction to try and collect...

15 Google Interview Questions That Will Make You... →
I found these really interesting. (Never fear- the article links to some suggested answers to said questions). A few:
-How many golf balls can fit in a school bus?
-Why are manhole covers round?
-Explain a database in three sentences to your 8-year old nephew.
(Here are 15 more questions!)
The 40% Rule? →
Well, folks, science has finally done something useful: proven the way to attract a man. All a woman needs to do is bare 40% of her body. Four researchers observed women at a night club and discovered this:
“Women who revealed around 40 per cent of their skin attracted twice as many men as those who covered up.
“However, those who exposed any more than this also fared worse. Experts...

Matt Weiner talks about the Mad Men finale →
Mad Men creator has given very few interviews since the airing of the finale but this one is really great. (Only read if you’re up to speed on MM and don’t mind some spoiler-ish content!). I liked this:
“[Getting rid of Sterling Cooper] was very scary but I knew in my heart it was what I had to do. I have to believe that if Don is as good as he says he is, there’s no way he’s...

Everyone and their mother has been linking to this, and who am I, if not a shameless follower?
The Denver Post did a fantastic photo essay. Their description: “For 27 months, Ian Fisher, his parents and friends, and the U.S. Army allowed Denver Post reporters and a photographer to watch and chronicle his recruitment, induction, training, deployment, and, finally, his return from combat. A...

Man, do I love a good Mad Men parody. This one, “Milk Men” is great. I really liked the Draper-esque milk monologue at the end. (Via)
